Towards the end of September we were hacked into.

Someone, who we’re trying to find with the help of a technologically advanced friend, entered into the email sector and uploaded a series of writings in English. There is no apparent order, but they’re curious and, sometimes, disquieting.

We’ve translated them and have started putting them on the site.
After a few days, our unknown correspondent started sending his ideas again, one piece a day, at least up to the time this page was being prepared. (October 8 2008).

According to our techno friend, the guy uses a precoded form of the “contribute to newspapers” kind with a capacity of a maximum of 600 characters. Probably for this reason the writings always look similar. We still haven’t been able to understand if he sends them only to us, if he rereads himself on these pages and then writes new posts….we’re kind of stumbling around in the dark.

The Contact, his nickname by now, had sent a first block of 13 writings. We had published four, before he started to post them again, and from that time on, he’s continued, until the moment these pages were created, to send a page a day.

We don’t know how it will end up, so we’re enjoying ourselves by continuing in this way, publishing a message from the Contact every day until he finishes or until we nail him. Seeing that we like to translate from English, we’re trying to do the best we can.

Since the pieces arrive in English, we’ve turned the terms of these pages upside down, putting the English ones first and then the Italian translation. Hoping that maybe he’ll read us and react in some way. We’ll see. Maybe further on we’ll ask him to give us a hand to understand…

Sul finire di settembre siamo stati hackerati.

Qualcuno, che stiamo cercando di individuare con l’aiuto di un amico tecnologicamente avanzato, è entrato nel settore della posta elettronica e ha scaricato una serie di scritti in inglese. Non esiste un ordine apparente, ma sono curiosi e, a volte, inquietanti. Li abbiamo tradotti e abbiamo cominciato a inserirli sul sito.

Dopo qualche giorno, il nostro sconosciuto corrispondente ha ricominciato a inviare le sue idee, uno scritto al giorno, almeno fino al momento di preparare questa pagina (6 ottobre 2007).

Secondo l’amico tecnologico, il tipo usa un modulo precodificato di quelli tipo “contributi ai giornali”, con una capienza di massimo 600 caratteri. Per questo, probabilmente, l’aspetto degli scritti è sempre molto simile. Non siamo ancora riusciti a capire, poi, se spedisce solo a noi, se sa che siamo noi, se in qualche modo legge se stesso su queste pagine e scrive i nuovi testi di conseguenza… Insomma, brancoliamo un po’ nel buio.

Il Contatto, ormai lo chiamiamo così, ci aveva inviato un primo blocco di 13 scritti. Noi ne abbiamo pubblicati quattro, prima che lui ricominciasse a postare: da allora, quindi, ha continuato, fino al momento della creazione di questa pagina, a inviare un messaggio al giorno.

Non sappiamo come andrà a finire, quindi ci diverte continuare così, pubblicando un messaggio del Contatto al giorno finchè non finirà o finchè non lo beccheremo. Visto che a noi piace tradurre, stiamo cercando di farlo al meglio.

Visto che le cose arrivano in inglese, abbiamo ribaltato i termini di questa pagina, mettendo prima l’inglese e poi la traduzione italiana. Sperando magari che ci legga e che in qualche modo reagisca. Si vedrà.

Magari più avanti vi chiederemo anche di darci una mano a capire…
