English Translation at the End of the Story

Oggi è uscito sulla Gazzetta di Parma, quindi possiamo parlarne pure qui, anche se non abbiamo le foto che, appunto, sono in redazione. L’amico Kary Mullis, premio Nobel per la chimica del 1993 e diverse volte nostro ospite, ha deciso che le mire immobiliariste sulla valle debbano essere contrastate, anche perchè nulla hanno a che fare con il Golf, sport nobile e storicamente verde (d’accordo, ci sono problemini anche lì, ma stanno facendo di tutto, quelli seri, per sistemarli, vedi GEO , il cui rappresentante per l’Italia, Paolo Croce, è già stato nostro ospite per spiegarci le linee guida del golf e del turismo golfistico internazionale). WWF, Legambiente e Italia Nostra hanno già preso identica posizione.

Insomma, Kary, sia pure dalla California dove vive, ha scritto un appello ai nostri ministri perchè intervengano a bloccare lo scempio che si preannuncia, deciso da chi nulla sa della realtà e delle conseguenze sullo stessa che un simile intervento avrebbe. Sa bene che gli appelli poco possono fare, ma in attesa e nella speranza che a Berlino ci sia un giudice, anche questo può servire. Mentre noi continuiamo a costruire su basi scientifiche ed economiche serie e valutate da esperti il progetto Bellalavalle per fare di Contignaco un riferimento nazionale e internazionale di cultura della terra, di turismo ambientale, di agricoltura moderna, di aggregazione tra sviluppo e conservazione, Kary lancia così il seguente appello a tutti coloro che abbiano a cuore l’intelligenza e l’amore per ciò che è sano e buono.

Today it’s being officially published in the Parma Gazzette so we can also talk about it here, even if we don’t have the photos that are on the editor’s desk. Our friend Kary Mullis, who received a Nobel prize for chemistry in 1993 and has been our guest here several times, has decided that the real estate developer’s aim of construction in the valley must be opposed, also because it has nothing to do with Golf, a noble and historically ecologically-minded sport (actually there are some problems concerning this too but people who are really serious about the sport are doing everything in their power to resolve them, see GEO ).

The fact of the matter is that Kary, although he lives in California, has written to our ministers asking them to intervene and block this pre-announced disaster, as the decision to build was made without knowing the real facts about the situation and their consequences. He knows very well that appeals can’t do much, but while waiting and hoping there’s a judge in Berlin, also this action can be of service. While we continue building the Bellalavalle project based on serious scientific and economical studies evaluated by experts, in order to make Contignaco a national and international point of reference for the earth’s culture, environmental tourism, modern agriculture, and an affiliation between development and conservation, Kary has launched the following appeal to all those who have intelligence at heart and love all that is healthy and good.
